Aaron Holt, Licensed Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor - MAC, CSAC, ICS

My name is Aaron Holt.  I am licensed by the state of Wisconsin as a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor, Independent Clinical Supervisor, and am in the application process to obtain my Licensed Professional Counselor credentialing.  I have an Associate’s Degree from FVTC in Substance Abuse Counseling, a Bachelor’s Degree from Viterbo University in Addiction Science, and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Lakeland College.  I have worked as a substance abuse counselor in both residential and outpatient settings since 2011.  I work out of the Project WisHope office in Waupaca.  Besides my work with WisHope, I also work as the coordinator for the Waupaca County Adult Treatment Court program, and have since its inception in 2017.  I believe all progress starts with the formation of good therapeutic rapport.  I find evidenced-based approaches in cognitive behavioral therapies, such as Rational Emotive Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to be my primary approach but understand that there are multiple pathways on the road to wellness. I believe wellness includes a healthy mind, body, and spirit.  Away from work I like to spend time with my family and two dogs.  I like to be outdoors as much as possible, whether its paddle-boarding, camping, or just hanging out in my yard.  To me, there is nothing more peaceful than sitting on an ocean beach.  I like horror movies, suspense thrillers, and I am a Star Wars nerd.
