Iris Health Clinic (IHC) is a leading provider of Bipolar Disorder Treatment in Wisconsin. Located in Waukesha and Milwaukee, our affordable treatment program is built on a comprehensive, evidence-based treatment model, and aims to provide healing for individuals suffering from bipolar disorders and addiction simultaneously.

At IHC, we are passionate about providing both quality and affordable addiction and mental treatment for individuals and families in Wisconsin. Every day we work hard to prove that we are 100% dedicated to improving the health and well-being of those in

our care through our evidence-based medical and therapeutic approaches. Our compassionate and empathetic therapists are trained to support individuals, couples, and families who are seeking support for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, emotional and mental health issues, eating disorders, PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and more.

Research shows that bipolar disorder frequently co-occurs with addiction or substance use disorders. In fact, studies have found that 60.7% of people with bipolar I disorder (considered the more severe form of the disorder) had some kind of co-occurring addiction, while 48.1% of those with bipolar II disorder (typically considered less severe) had some kind of co-occurring substance use disorder. These numbers are significantly higher than in any other mood disorder, including major depression.

Addiction & Bipolar Disorder: Our Integrated and Evidence-Based Treatment Approach

IHC’s addiction and bipolar disorder treatment approach is integrated, meaning our programs combine the use of multiple treatment services in order to offer real recovery solutions to person’s seeking to transform their overall health and well-being.  Clients will work closely with our qualified staff to develop a customized treatment plan to decide which of our treatment modalities will work best for them.

Typically, our dual-diagnosis treatment programs are offered on an inpatient level for people who struggle with substance use and at least one other mental health condition or disorder. However, we do offer outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, extended care programs, and more. Our dual diagnosis treatment is built on an integrated approach, meaning our programs combine the use of multiple treatment services in order to treat the whole person, so the mind, the body, and the soul.

Confidentiality

We understand that seeking treatment is not easy and the last thing a person needs is to fear is that they will be exposed by treatment staff for doing so. Fortunately, the strict rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) are designed to protect patient confidentiality.   We respect these rules and we follow them. Plus, many of our leadership are in recovery and many of our family members, so we know first hand the need to seek treatment for ourselves and our loved ones privately.
