Being addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs is stressful mentally, physically and emotionally. If you’ve been able to establish some level of sobriety, you have a lot to be proud of, and yet, it’s highly possible that you still have some work ahead of you. Maybe you are still experiencing cravings and are afraid of a return to using,  or perhaps you want to gain insight into how you can repair broken relationships, or you may be visiting an unavoidable environment where substances are often used and you want to know how to cope. No matter what you’re dealing with, participating in counseling for addiction can help you sustain long-term recovery.  Iris Health Clinic offers individual counseling for addiction, as well as couples and family counseling so families and loved ones can heal together.

Iris Health Clinic specializes in counseling for co-occurring mental health disorders that often go hand in hand with addiction, such as stress, anxiety, PTSD, depression and more. We offer a person-centered approach to mental health therapy and counseling for all age groups, and we make it our priority to create a safe and secure environment for all our clients. We combine modern research, evidence-based practices, and our experience and training to provide individualized planning and services to all of our clients, their spouses and their family members.

Depression is a mood disorder that often causes persistent feelings of sadness and loss of interest and motivation. If you are depressed, you may be feeling tired all the time, having trouble focusing, feeling frustrated, irritable or angry, having trouble sleeping or sleeping too much, or dealing with a deep sense of isolation. If so, Iris Health Clinic is here to help. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, our licensed mental health therapists can provide you with effective treatment to help you begin to heal, learn how to cope, and ultimately, get your life back on track.

In Wisconsin, more than 60,000 men and 132,000 women struggle with eating disorders every year. So, if you are struggling with an eating disorder just know you are not alone and there is nothing to be ashamed of. However,  since eating disorders are highly dangerous and potentially have deadly conditions, dealing with them promptly and professionally is critical to your overall health and well-being. At Iris Health Clinic, we have years of experience helping individuals heal and overcome eating disorders of all types, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating. With our help, you can overcome your conditions in a one-on-one setting or alongside your family members and other loved ones.

While the prevalence of PTSD can vary, it has been estimated that approximately 7.8% of people at any given point in their lifetimes experience PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Each person’s experience of PTSD is unique, and while you may have experienced a similar type of trauma to someone else, you can be affected in different ways. Individuals who suffer from PTSD may be experiencing painful flashbacks, intrusive thoughts or images, nightmares, intense distress, pain, sweating, nausea, or an overall sense of panic. Our trauma-focused counseling services will help you process your traumatic experience, set goals and develop new coping skills. Our PTSD counseling services are also available for couples, families and other loved ones.

Bipolar disorder is a mental illness marked by extreme shifts in mood. Symptoms can include an extremely elevated mood causing individuals to feel manic at times. At Iris Health Clinic,  you can sit with our therapists and discuss your feelings, thoughts and behaviors that are hurting your ability to function to the best of your ability. Through therapy, you can learn to cope better and develop a more positive self-image. At IHC, we offer talk therapy, behavioral therapy and cognitive therapy for bipolar disorders. We also offer couples and individual counseling so your loved ones can gain a better understanding of your illness, share their concerns, and learn how to best support you.

Schizoaffective disorder is a chronic mental health condition characterized primarily by symptoms of schizophrenia, such as hallucinations or delusions, and symptoms of a mood disorder, such as mania and depression. Schizoaffective is relatively rare and can be managed effectively with medications, such as mood stabilizers and antidepressants, as well as therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy or family-focused or couples therapy.

If you have been arrested for drunk or impaired driving in Wisconsin, you may be required to attend court-ordered DUI counseling in order to get your license back. Typically, Wisconsin courts will mandate DUI counseling for first-time offenders rather than imposing stricter penalties. If the required DUI counseling is not completed, a harsher sentence is often forced. So, while it may seem like a hassle to have to attend DUI counseling, it’s a much better option if you consider the alternatives. Iris Health Clinic’s DUI counseling services are designed to meet Wisconsin’s court-mandated DUI case regulations set forth by judges to keep high-risk, intoxicated drivers off the roads.

Our telehealth services allow for any individual who is struggling with addiction and/or co-occurring mental health conditions to speak directly to a therapist or peer recovery support specialist either through the phone or via video conferring, depending on his or her needs.  By using videoconferencing, smartphone applications, and web-based tools, we can support a person’s recovery journey and deliver health services immediately and remotely. This means you or your loved one can talk to someone in real-time and receive support without having to travel to our facility.  Our telehealth services are completely confidential and privacy and safety is always our top priority. Telehealth has become a highly promising tool for treating and supporting people with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health disorders and is a particularly helpful option for those living in a rural area of Wisconsin where there is a lack of qualified providers and resources.
