Iris Health Clinic Frequently Asked Questions
FUNDING:
Being addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs is stressful mentally, physically and emotionally. If you’ve been able to establish some level of sobriety, you have a lot to be proud of, and yet, it’s highly possible that you still have some work ahead of you. Maybe you are still experiencing cravings and are afraid of a return to using, or perhaps you want to gain insight into how you can repair broken relationships, or you may be visiting an unavoidable environment where substances are often used and you want to know how to cope. No matter what you’re dealing with, participating in counseling for addiction can help you sustain long-term recovery. Iris Health Clinic offers individual counseling for addiction, as well as couples and family counseling so families and loved ones can heal together. Contact us.
Keep an eye out for companies who only accept “out-of-network insurance.” This costs families considerably more money, and in many cases treatment facilities choose to be out of network solely for large financial gain. IHC has a large emphasis on in-network contracts with commercial insurance companies. This demonstrates that we are providing treatment at such high quality that insurance companies are willing to enter into a formal contract with us and is a considerable saving to you.
You will find that our treatment is very affordable compared to most centers out there, while you will still receive incredible care. If you are considering paying for your own care, make sure to contact us to find out about our rates.
QUALITY:
Because Wisconsin and many other states have little regulation for treatment programs, companies are able to open rather effortlessly with little oversight. Iris Health Clinic is currently monitored by several different regulating bodies, some voluntary and some mandatory including The Joint Commission, The State of Wisconsin and Waukesha County. In addition, Iris Health Clinic is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. This accreditation is the highest level possible for a drug and alcohol addiction treatment center and reflects the rigorous standards of clinical excellence and comprehensive facilities necessary to achieve the accreditation.
Although there isn’t a quick fix or cure for addiction, making sure someone who is struggling is given all the tools possible to ensure sobriety is critical. Instead of measuring relapse or drug and/or alcohol use, we measure a wide range of recovery outcomes that focus on emotional growth, increases in emotional intelligence, life contentment, increased employment skills and job satisfaction, increased recovery and community connections, improved family relationships, increases in life purpose and enhanced self-esteem. Since recovery is considered a lifelong ordeal due to the nature of addiction, it’s important to focus on these measures in order to heal the whole person long-term.
The majority of treatment agencies are not required to track outcomes, and there is not an industry standard in place to dictate what is collected. It is important that a treatment agency has some outcome measures in place and that they have statistical validity. These programs should be able to demonstrate to you that they have successful treatment interventions. Iris Health Clinic places a tremendous emphasis on outcomes, and many of our contracts require regular reporting on these measures. In order to increase the quality of care, services and treatment we provide, we perform outcome measures as required by JCAHO upon entry, during treatment, and after discharge. Over the years, we have collected hundreds of individual surveys from our clients. The data we collect is meant to gauge recovery outcomes and includes measurements for emotional growth, increases in emotional intelligence, life contentment, increased employment skills and job satisfaction, increased recovery and community connections, improved family relationships, increases in life purpose and enhanced self-esteem. Through these markers, we can show that 90% of our patients have been positively impacted by our treatment programs.
Anyone can open up a treatment program — but you have to have a talented and specialized staff to ensure treatment is successful. Make sure to ask if staff carry their full licensure and come from multiple disciplines. We are incredibly fortunate to have a strong reputation, wonderful benefits, and a healthy work environment to attract amazing licensed staff. On staff, we have:
Full-time medical and therapeutic staff available seven days a week.
- Board-certified psychiatrists.
- Board-certified addiction medicine physician.
- Board-certified psychologist
- Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor
- Licensed master’s level therapist.
- Licensed clinical mental health counselor.
- Licensed clinical social worker.
TREATMENT:
Inpatient care at Iris Health Clinic has a minimum of 30 days. Individuals can enter our care with a specific timeline of 30/60/90 days or can leave it open to a long-term and individualized treatment stay. Keep in mind that IHC gets to core issues that perpetuate substance use, so these things take time. The more interventions and therapeutic work that takes place, the more likely for success. Don’t sell yourself short, put in the time so that you can be as successful as possible for the rest of your life. It is worth it. Learn more about our Residential Treatment Programming.
Addiction is only the tip of the iceberg when you are working toward long-term sobriety. For true success, you need to address the following: mental health, physical health;, attitudes, behaviors, positive relationships, housing, family, education, employment, and much more. Make sure that you are getting top value with evidence-based best-practice interventions that address much more than addiction. Our outpatient, extended care and residential programs provide real-life experience to help you have every tool possible for a successful recovery.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS:
Absolutely, and they’re encouraged to. Participants in our treatment programs need support from the people who love them. Family members and friends can send letters, have phone calls, and even visit during regular visiting hours if you are on the approved visitor list.
If you live outside the geographical area, we can coordinate family therapy and interaction via phone or video conference. Letters can also be an effective treatment tool allowing greater reflection and time to react. If you are capable of visiting, a face-to-face family session is arranged to help reinforce progress made over the phone. As your loved one prepares to transition out of treatment, they may have extended visits to your home to help ease the transition. These visits are encouraged when clinically appropriate and provide opportunities to practice new skills.
